The Fifteenth Annual Health Services Research Symposium was held on November 4, 2004. The day began with a keynote address by David M. Cutler, Ph.D., professor of economics, Department of Economics and Kennedy School of Government, and dean for the social sciences in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Harvard University , on “Reforming America's Healthcare System.” Dr. Cutler's address was followed with comments by discussant Sherry Glied, Ph.D., chair of the Department of Health Policy and Management, the Joseph L. Mailman School of Public Health, Columbia University.
The Symposium also featured concurrent morning sessions on pharmaceutical coverage for the elderly and on immigrant health, and concurrent afternoon roundtable sessions on underinsurance, family caregiving, and workforce issues.
