Nursing Home Quality Measures Training Program

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) established a set of Nursing Home Quality Indicators to provide a framework to track specific performance indicators based on the Minimum Data Set (MDS), a national assessment tool used in nursing facilities. The GNYHA Foundation received a grant from the New York State Department of Health to implement a Quality Measures training program  to educate all levels of nursing home staff on the optimal use of these new nursing quality indicators. Continuing Care Leadership Coalition, the long-term care affiliate of GNYHA, is conducting this training program.

The goals of the Quality Measures Training Program are to improve the quality of  patient care and staff retention at each facility by enhancing teamwork and empowering interdisciplinary staff with knowledge about quality improvement.
