- In July, 2011, GNYHA Foundation received a one-year grant from the Fund for Public Health in New York, in collaboration with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, to improve New York City hospitals’ capacity to respond to public health emergencies. GNYHA will host a series of forums with hospitals to inform and obtain feedback on topics pertinent to emergency planning and response, and will simultaneously maintain and update the Emergency Preparedness Resource Tool publication for hospitals. GNYHA will also continue its work with member hospitals on integrated emergency response plans, and facilitate the adoption of the Integrated Clinical Explosive Event Response Plan by NYC hospitals in the coming year.
