Funded in part by the United Hospital Fund, the Resident Assessment Tool on Cultural Competence (RATCC) was designed to develop and pilot-test a Web-based interactive tool to evaluate physician residents' professionalism, cultural competence, and general interpersonal communication skills.
The GNYHA Foundation collaborated with a physician consultant and ComputerSims to develop this Web-based evaluation methodology for cultural competency. The RATCC was pilot tested at four hospital sites, and nine residency programs completed it. Post-test evaluation questions determined the effectiveness of the training and assessed residents’ perceptions of the trainings and tool.
