On September 28, 2005, the GNYHA Foundation held a Forum on Best Practices in Cultural Competency Training for Residents. This half-day forum focused on the importance of delivering culturally competent care and highlighted teaching institutions in the New York area that have instituted innovative cultural competency resident training strategies. The interactive discussion session allowed for participants to hear from experts and exchange ideas on methods to effectively incorporate cultural competency into their residency training programs. This forum was made possible by funding provided by the Josiah Macy, Jr. Foundation and the Dyson Foundation.
