HITE Community Connections

HITE Community Connections

With support from the New York Community Trust, HITE launched a new outreach program to engage and connect providers working with children and families in New York City’s most disadvantaged neighborhoods. The program, HITE Community Connections, included forums in each of ten target communities for agencies that offer preventive services, medical and mental health care, benefits assistance, education, recreation, and more. Each meeting provided agency representatives with an opportunity to share resource information, learn about new services, and participate in an open discussion to address common information and referral challenges. The HITE Community Connections program aimed to strengthen linkages and improve access to vital tools and information for providers, ultimately helping them to better serve their community and improve the continuum of care for at-risk children and families. GNYHA Foundation held 10 community connection forums in the following NYC areas and counties: Far Rockaway, Staten Island, Flatbush, Jamaica Queens, Brownsville/East New York, East Harlem/Washington Heights, Bushwick, Bedford-Stuyvesant, and the South Bronx.
